Prior to World War I, J.N. “Polly” Parrott was working in Dallas for The Texas Company in downtown Dallas. The war came and off he marched in 1917. When the war ended, “Polly” returned to his Texas roots and to The Texas Company as a consignee for most parts of Texas west of Dallas. In 1923, he married Ruth Alderman, decided to settle in Dallas and he formed the Consumers Gasoline Company. He peddled gasolines and oils by driving his own truck until 1951 when his son, G.N. “Polly” Parrott married Jo Medford and joined the firm. Later, sons Scott and Randy were born. J.N. and G.N. then formed new companies Oils, Inc. and Parrott Oil Corporation. In the early 1970’s the companies were merged and Parrott Oil Corp. became the surviving entity. Sadly, we lost J.N. Parrott in 1989, his wife Ruth in 1990, and Scott in 1991.
Ranparr, Inc. was originally formed as an automotive equipment company in 1988. When Parrott Oil Corp. sold its assets in 1993, Ranparr, Inc. began selling only motor fuels under the direction of Randy Parrott as President. His children Jaime and Justin are now both working with the company to continue the traditions far into the future. Today, Ranparr, Inc. has grown to serving over 40 cities in Texas.
